Edition „Walk in Time”

The performance "Walk in Time" plays with the tension between meditative locomotion in nature and the technical production of data. Data that are normally used to optimize and improve themselves. Here they serve as the basis for another work of art. All available data such as heart rate, skin resistance, temperature, number of steps and walking speed are evaluated and artistically combined with additional geographical data and selected stills from the live performance. The unique limited edition "Walk in Time" can be purchased. The number of works depends on the number of days Daniel Beerstecher has spent during his performance.

Edition 1: Slow walking (Edition 3 + 1 AP) One foot in front of the other in the flow of time; this is recorded in an edition. Each image shows one day of the performance. 36 video stills are taken per day from the six-hour livestream. Every 10 minutes a moment is captured. The picture is created from the totality of the moments (videostills). They are ordered and selected so that two sequences of steps can be seen in each picture. Day by day. Step by step. Depending on the day, the weather and the alternating background, very little or very much happens on the pictures. On some days, for example, you can guess the time that has passed by the course of the shadow. On other days there will be rain and sunshine, the background changes frequently, which will have an influence on the color and light intensity of the individual stills. Each edition contains 60 images (40 x 60 cm), which in turn consist of 36 video stills. The number of images in an edition depends on the number of days needed to complete the marathon. The price per picture is 390€ (framed). If you have a picture from a desired day, which is not yet assigned, you can reserve this day. Edition 2: The colors of the data (Edition 5 + 1 AP) Data was produced throughout the entire time of the performance "Walk in Time". Not only video material, but also data such as heart rate, skin resistance, temperature, number of steps and energy consumption. A sensor from KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) continuously collected the data. After an artistic processing, a diagram image is created for each day of the performance. As in Edition 1, 60 images (40 x 30 cm) were created in this way. These 60 images make up an edition. The pictures shown here and the values given are still drafts, until the final data evaluation. Single pictures can be bought for 190€ (unframed) and if desired also with frame (230€) and you can already reserve the data for your desired day. One day of performance - combination of images from Edition 1 and Edition 2 An additional option to purchase one day of performance each. The pictures of Edition 1 are snapshots of the day and result in two sequences of steps. The images of Edition 2 visualize the recorded data of one day.
