– Hot summer days and direct sunlight can lead to overheating of the camera and the mobile router. If the camera is switched off due to overheating, no more recordings are possible to document the performance. However, aluminum heatsinks and PC fans are attached to the camera on hot days to reduce the risk of overheating.

Daniel Beerstecher started his extreme Slow-Walk Marathon within the Donaugalerie Tuttlingen on July 14, 2019 at noon at the Museum ArtPlus in Donaueschingen. He walks along the Danube for about 60 days, continues to Tuttlingen and to the finish line on the runway of the ariport Neuhausen ob Eck. On a distance of 42,195 km he walks with approximately 120 meters per hour altogether 6 hours per day.
During this radical deceleration, his current positions and coordinates, a live video and walking speed will be transmitted via GPS and technologies of extreme athletes* here on this website and to the Museum ArtPlus, the Kunsthalle Göppingen and the Gallery of the City of Tuttlingen. In an innovative way the artist deals with the geographical, technical and social conditions and challenges of our present. Online followers and local audiences can attend or even join the physical part of the performance. Slow-Walk requires enormous concentration and the artist asks not to be addressed or actively disturbed during the performance.
